I've been told the current speed limit at Brooklands is 15mph so I can certainly be one of the fastest around the track!
Thanks for offering the barrel, I hope I won't need it but don't know for sure yet. I haven't opened the engine yet.
Were there 398cc barrels together with the Skoota parts you bought? There's a chance those might be coming from the same auction where I bought my Skoota.

Hello all. I've probably made a stupid mistake, but I love bikes and Sopwith, so had to make an offer on the "ABC Motorbike" on ebay.....I have my doubts about it - the frame looks very iffy (how can there be a V5 if the frame is not correct? Is it a newly stamped random frame?) BUT, he did give me a good deal.
Document also says 300cc, i thought it was a 398cc...so more confusion.
Now comes the tricky part, locating the rest of the bike - engine, gearbox, leg shields, carb, etc, etc.
So....As you seem to have a knack of finding bits, can you give me any suggestions of where to go?
Does anyone else use this forum? A lot of the site seems to have gone into hibernation since June.
I appreciate it is going to be a long struggle finding parts, so i am thinking of this more as winter 2016/17 project.
Any help or pointer would be most appreciated. Apart from the 1920 ABC sales cat, and the Vintage Road Test article, I really have nothing.
Many thanks in advance,
Nicholas Hill, UK (Bikes: FB Merlin, AJS H6 (1927 350cc OHV 2016 restoration), bits of ABC bike)

Hello, was it by any chance this one?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vintage-veteran-a-b-c-mtorcycle-in-bits-transferable-number-both-log-books-v55c-/401002094268?hash=item5d5d965ebc
I hope not otherwise your project might have to be delayed for a while
The frame does not belong to a standard ABC 398cc. Apart from that all the other parts belong to a 398cc.
Keith Sams (VMCC ABC specialist) has been looking for a frame for some time but none came up for sale in the past two years.
You never know you might be lucky otherwise you'll have to find an ABC wreck somewhere with frame, engine and gearbox. Don't worry, there are some for sure. Just takes time to find them.
In regards to the website...yes sorry. Summer was too good this year to sit in front of a PC. There will be more added, including the history page which is 90% ready.
I'll certainly keep on posting info about any ABC part I see on the internet

The frame on that auction bike appeared to be an autocycle one, certainly strange if it has a V5c.
