I can pass by if you are high in Italy, but i see the work of a handy man and you're seeing a prototype.
On the auction photo's i can see a dripfeed to one side of the crankcase and an oilpumpfeed to the otherside, that's a lot of oil where it only needs 20 drops a minute, could you explain?

Yes, maybe a prototype
foolish idea: maybe an oil return line'??
Tank is actually dirty inside, will not make ttempts to run it

It's not a foolish idear but than one tube has to go to the bottem of the  crankcase, a dripfeed is a "total loss" system, the pump would make it "dry sump".
More logic would be the tank and engine are from differend motorcycles as ABC did with the 1916 Firefly 250cc prototype, being a 500cc handpump (not in use) tank on a 250cc sprocketpump-dripfeed engine (for wich i had to make a pressure overflow to protect the pump).
See "parts adverts".

The penny has dropped, the oilpump and nice finish of the engine, I am altering my view, not a 1914 Zedel auxiliary engine but a 1913 -1914 Zedel-Moser racing engine, in that case it willbe difficult to find info.
I still think it's home build.
Look in to Italian racing 1925-1930 and forget this high handlebar.

The origin of this fine-looking engine seems yet to be in some doubt, but it has overtones of a 1914 Yale, an American twin engine with a vee-angle of about 50*.
Simple primary balancing of such an engine is impossible: in use in its present location, it will generate unpleasant lateral vibrations.
Because of its probable greater cubic capacity than the Gnome et Rhone's original engine, it could be worth altering the final-drive ratio, to permit riding with lower engine revs., and resultant less vibration.
(The standard Sopwith ratio, with 14/32-tooth sprockets, gives 14.9 MPH/1000 rpm in top gear).
A Sopwith standard transmission is certainly robust enough for such an alternative engine: it is probable that a G&R transmission is, too.

Yale? mesure the threads and find out if it's metric or other.
