Tires for ABC Gnome Rhone

I've just received confirmation that Vintage Tyres Ltd. now has the Ensign 26" x 2 1/2" beaded edge tyre in stock, at the price etc. previously advised. Also, "Tyre Fitting Kits", consisting of talc for the innertube, and soap for the beaded edges, at about £2.50, I think.

However I have a question.

The proposed tired dimensions are 26"*2.5" equal in centimeters to # 66.04cm*5.08cm

But my motorcycle rim have the following dimensions 58.7cm*5.08cm equal in inch to # 23"*2.5"

Where
- 23" is the external dimension of the rim
- 2.5" is the external width of the rim

Do you think that the proposed 26"*2.5" are the good one for my ABC rims?

Hallo Frederic,
A standard Sopwith wheel rim has an outside diameter of 57.5 cm., as near as I can measure it.
It is normal to have to stretch a new tyre onto its rim, not a big problem, as beaded edge tyres are quite elastic!
I'm fairly sure that 26" x 2 1/2" is the correct size for your wheels, although, to be sure, I have asked Peter Gillespie to check the tyres on his G&R wheels.
I'll post his reply as soon as it comes in.
