On the petroltank you will see airpump supports but you cann't fit the pump becouse of the oilregulator.
Not the best position, but i see enough space for the pump

Sorry for the late reaction, i am not home in the winter so cann't look in my books.
Why would a factory replace a modern overheadvalve engine for a outdated pre1914 ioe vtwin and a 1925-1930 saddletank and both exhausts to one side?.
The dents in the petroltank are thelling me that the engine was first more to the rear but gave difficulty with the gearlever.
The sparkplugs are the widest objects .
If i have to put a name to the engine now i would say 1914-18 Zedel auxiliary engine.

Hi degraff
Thanks for yr comments/ideas
Of course this appears a less performing engine with classic ioe, born in sv era
I misured stroke (Through the head petcocks) and it is approx 85 mm
The external diam of the cylinder is approx 67, so i assume this engine is appr. 500 cubic cm (60/61 mm pison bore?)
The dents in the petrol tank instead appear centered with the head petcocks to consent adding petrol directly in the cyl.
In case yuo will in the future come to Italy i would invite you to see the bike and we would comment it together.
There is good space to move the gear lever.
Seen some very early Zedel engines with very similar fins (but too early i think)
Actually unable to post photos, will ask help to a friend (url request quite difficult for me)
Andrea
