Hi ABCers
First of all I would like to say a big thank you to Paul, Alex, Julian (and Claire), Geoff, Tony, Neil (and Alice) and Ian for bringing their machines to Brooklands and help make a fantastic display of ABCs at the Veteran and Vintage Day. It was also great to see Derek, Eugene and Giovanni. A special thanks to Tony for providing the gazebo and to Ian for the use of the display boards. Oh and a special special thank you to Kate (Tony's partner) for providing a wonderful chocolate cake!
The first picture is of the the ABC stand which was located in the "Motoring Village" near the entrance and so we were the first exhibit that visitors saw. Which meant that had a good flow of visitors all day.
Alex and Neil took part in the parade in the demonstration area (sorry no photo) and a team of four ABCers attempted the Test Hill. Unfortunately, the Test Hill results were a bit mixed with one failure to enter due to administration, one failure to start, one failure on the hill itself and only one clean run (well done Tony). This next picture I call "Pride Before a Fall".
As it happened the ABC team proved to be rather better at the next event.
Later on in the spirit of friendly rivalry between ABCers, Tony and Giovani decided to replace the carburettor on Alex's machine when no one was looking.
All in all it was a wonderful day and I'd to like to thank everybody once again for making the effort and putting on a brilliant ABC display at the Vintage and Veteran Day. I do hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
Finally, don't forget Founders Day at Stamford Hall on 20th July where it will be great to see you all again.
