Hi.

I have surplus to requirements and most probably very needed by someone

2 new 16x 2.125 tyres brand new, one still in wrapping , the Second unwrapped to fit to show what they look like.
2 new inner tubes.

The important bit.

2 used. Raleigh bicycle rims with 20 holes. Chrome plated steel rims with dimples and drilled out to take the correct size spokes.

Either keep them chrome or as I have done sand blast them and powder coat them.
They will look fantastic if you fir Stainless steel spokes, and never have to worry about rusting dirty spokes again.
See final picture of my finished rear wheel.

The finished product really does stand out!

I am after the rear brake pedal and bar!

I have a spare very tatty fuel tank that has had the drain valve taken out and welded up. Complete with both filler caps that need re nickel plating and the oil pressure valve. I an after another pressure valve that is slightly larger in thread size!
I am also after the petrol outlet connection between the tank and pipe.
Also the petrol shut off valve and nut from the top of the tank.

With these bits my bit should be complete and I can get the engine commissioned.

Message me if you are interested or can help out.

Regards Neil.

Good evening all: I know nothing of the skootamota tyre thing, but there's a chap selling some new old stock tyres on ebay at the moment. John bull. Dunlop. etc
16x2 balloon tyres. It's worth messaging him, as he may have something. He has some funny sizes.

I've just bought a nice big fat tyre for my cyclemotor, though I don't know if the old rubber will be able to withstand; the full 25cc of "raw power".

Below; is not a link as I have no idea how to do that.

Look at this on eBay:
ORIGINAL 1960's MICHELIN RALEIGH RSW 16" x 2" 'BALLOON ' bike tyre

Hello Neil

I would be very interested in the rims. Please could you advise width and diameter of rim. I have had my Skootamota for 52 years and need a rim for the front wheel so that I can complete the machine.
I have a brake lever of which I could produce an engineering drawing if it would help, it would be very easy to make.

If the parts are still available perhaps you could advise your price. I live in St Albans

Thank you for your time

Peter

Hi Peter.

Sorry for not replying until now, buy with trying to get my bike certified.

I have a pair of rims, tyres and inner tubes .

The rims are steel chrome plated.
Over all diameter is 320 mm
Width at the very rim is 32 mm.
They fit the new tyres that Beaulieu Tyres supply for our bikes.
The spoke holes are dimpled and drilled out to take the original sized spokes.
Either leave them chrome, but these are not new wheel so would look better powder coated.

To get the wheels looking new, the hubs and brake rims could be re nickel plated.

I fitted stainless steel spokes for a few quid extra on material costs you never have to worry about rusty spokes again.

I was after £200.00 for the 2 full sets. It would be a shame to split them up.
They are listed on ebay under Skootamota if you need photos.

Yes, if you could produce a engineering drawing for the brake pedal that would be fantastic as I’ve had no luck with borrowing one to copy or finding a replacement.

Regards Neil.

Hi Alex.

Many thanks for the information on the tyres.

I’m sorted myself now apart from I really could do with a new front Hub as the bearing housing has been botched in the past and not ideal.

Cheers Neil.
