Hi ABCers

Due to the recent forum service outage and before I post the mileage for June I thought it would be just worth reposting the May figure which is now 144 miles. This have gone up a bit since the original May post as Peter Gillespie was able to add 34 miles following his participation of the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride in Johannesburg.

I can't remember what pictures I originally posted for May so below are some pictures from the DGR in Johannesburg. The first picture is of Sopwith ABC "JHF" which was Peter's mount for the event.

The second and third picture are general scenes from what, I am guessing, is the finish party. Seams to be quite the social gathering to be seen at. I wonder if Peter is wearing shirt number 7.

 - A great shame that some small-minded creep with an oversized ego and a tiny soul, upset our website. But my thanks to our super Webmaster for getting the system up and running again so quickly.
June...for me there was the Cranbury, and a couple of local Pubnights.
The Cranbury, a one-off event, was a sort of deregulated Banbury, on the day before, with the same start and finish at the Gaydon Museum. Choices were a 'short' (about 30 miles) and a 'long' (about 70 miles) route. There was a cloudburst just before the midday start, but then the sun came out. (See photos below). EK and OH opted for the short route, and got round in the dry. BF, greedy for the distance, went 'long', and ran into walls of water soon after half-way.
I'm claiming 80 miles for this one, because of a couple of off-piste excursions (the jewel-like route cards were nearly impossible to read in the downpours).
Since then, there was a super country-lane run to the Potting Shed in Crudwell (19 miles), and a dismal rain-soaked outing to the Old Neighbourhood pub on Chalford Hill (8 miles).
 - Not a great total, but they were all Quality Miles!
