Brooklands Test Hill Conquered!

Huh! My 1904 de Dion-Bouton needed disengagement of the differential free-wheel and application of its emergency-reverse and sprag at the lower end of the 1 in 4 section, and it still flew for eighteen feet.

As a regular hill climber and Brooklands volunteer I have to set an example by crossing the finishing ine at walking pace to demonstrate that I am in total control of my vehicles at all times.  I believe that I am the only person to have driven the hill on two, three and fours wheels in a single day.
One of my colleagues attempted to beat the Francis Beart record of 6.99 seconds and only just managed to stop before going off the edge of Members Banking.

Not more than four wheels? You should have seen me with my Scammell Mechanical Horse and articulated trailer! All FIVE wheels spinning in the air at the top.
