Milntown House, former home of ABC enthusiasts Bob Thomas and Sir Clive Edwards is in the Isle of Man which is currently 50 days “Covid -free “
As a result, we volunteers have been able to get into the garages for the last 4 weeks to maintain the cars and bikes, and for 2 weeks been able to show visitors the vehicles and take the cars on runs.
After 2 months of lock -down both cars started instantly on their electric starters and ran really well both managing a an easy 44/ 45 mph when warmed up.
Being laid -up for a few weeks is but a batting of an eye in their history.MAN 67D ( 1924 ) was laid up in Vic Derringtons workshop in Kingston from 1930 to 1974 before Bob bought it and brought it to the IOM.

Gear changing with the ”vertical H “ change takes some practice.
For those used to driving modern cars, the brakes have to viewed as rather ..aspirational - emergency stop is best performed with the foot brake and handbrake together. There are no front brakes-( this was seen by some as a desirable feature at the time as it was so easy to lock -up the front wheels on the loose gravel road surfaces of the day and continue on , disappearing through a hedge.)

We are looking forward to the time when you be able to visit us and we can show you all the ABCs.

Best Wishes
Andrew

There don’t seem to be many ABC cars about, and this Superport appears to be in Sweden so am I correct in presuming this your car on the Wikipedia page?
