Bonjour,
My ABC is now complete, and I need to get the engine running and do some initial test runs before painting. I'll wait a few months for better weather to do that.
In the meantime, I'm preparing for the painting and nickel plating.
Does anyone know where I can buy ABC decals?
Thank you all; your advice throughout this restoration has been invaluable. For example, I was able to order the tank gaskets from Peter Rosenthal, which I wouldn't have been able to find on my own.
Best regards,
Frédéric

Very good news and we'll done for getting it this far. Many looked at those parts but only you have been able to turn them into a motorcycle!
If I remember the tank correctly, I would like to ask you to consider not painting it, there are not enough original tanks left.
If you really want to go ahead with it, I would imagine there is no g&r transfer on the market so you will have to get it made. In the past I used Classic Transfers and they managed to create a perfect transfer from a picture which was not even straight.

You will have to provide them with the best picture you can take and one measure.
Look forward to seeing the final bike but would you mind sharing some pictures of the current beauty?

Hallo All, A look at the 'Classic Transfers' website this evening seems to indicate that the "ABC Sopwith Aviation Co. Ltd., with Laurel Wreath and Wings" transfer for the steering head lug and rear mudguard is still a stock item, at £6.50 each.
The phone no. is +44 (0) 1454 260576.

G'day Guys.
I have been led to believe a Gnome Rhone has the original "ABC" transfer on the tank, steering head. Mine has original paint (Harry Beanham painted the off white over the original transfer with a paintbrush) but the black tank paintwork and every other part of the bike is still as left the factory.
I have seen a restored machine (Came out of Harry's business) that has been fitted with a Gnome Rhone gearbox and passed off as a Gnome Rhone. it was sold after the owners death by Pickles and has dropped off the radar here in Australia....no sightings of it at all.

An update on my #2002 of yesterday: I am advised by Adam Wilson of Classic Transfers that he has only 1 Sopwith transfer in stock...with no indication that more will be made.
