Mystery coin

I am trying to find out where the part shown in the photo is mounted on the ABC.
Can anyone help me on this?

Strictly for a Gnome et Rhone ABC, this coin appears in Plate II of the Parts Catalogue, as item no. 649. I think it plays a role in the operation of the clutch.
I wish you much pleasure, fitting it into your velocipede!
