oil tank cap seal was created by Andrew Kelsey
Following a fuel and il tank repair on 1921 ABC car a new seal is needed for the oil cap.
I think these same as on ABC motorbike tanks :

Please can anyone give details and advise re where to obtain a seal?

Andrew

Not sure what size that might be but you might get lucky contacting one of these companies:

http://www.petesbikes.co.uk/product_categories/tank-caps/

These guys do speak English and I believe do make several filler caps, not just the one on their website

BTW, thank you for providing the car spare parts catalogue and the many pictures of cars and motorcycles in your musuem in Milntown. These have now been added to the gallery for all memebers to enjoy.
I need to organise a trip to come to see you

Thanks Giovanni that’s very helpful.

Very pleased that you have the photos in the gallery -thank you!.

Miilntown was Bob Thomas’ home for many years and consequently the vehicle collection that he and Sir Clive Edwards bequeathed as part of the Milntown Trust is very much ABC- perhaps more than any where else in the world.

Please come and visit!

We have both the ABC cars running well at present :

Didn’t have any luck getting a suitable replacement but made up a replacement seal from .... flooring mats of the type found at Machine Mart, B&Q.
I doubted if this material would be OK with oil and petrol so put samples in engine oil and in petrol in early October and they seem quite unaffected by either.
Some experimentation is needed to get the size cut right (but one mat would provide a lot of trials !)
Obviously, care is needed not to allow any “slivers “ to be left hanging that could enter the tank.
