Hi.
On my engine the crack shaft key way is at 9.00 o’clock when the piston is at TDC, which then gives the camshaft key at 9.00 giving equal opening for the valves. I assume this was factory designed to give ease of assembly when new and after?..
I’m hoping this is correct as the engine is not running as I’m waiting for the magneto to be rebuilt.

I’ll post my findings once running.

Cheers for the replies

Hi I have my magneto back for my Skootamota and have fittedit.

Question now, 35 degrees BTDC do I turn the flywheel clockwise or anti-clockwise to lock the mag drive in place as the points are opening.?

there should be an arrow on the mag to say which way it goes so assuming it is the correct mag that's the way the engine should rotate
