Hello, was it by any chance this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vintage-veteran-a-b-c-mtorcycle-in-bits-transferable-number-both-log-books-v55c-/401002094268?hash=item5d5d965ebc
I hope not otherwise your project might have to be delayed for a while
The frame does not belong to a standard ABC 398cc. Apart from that all the other parts belong to a 398cc.
Keith Sams (VMCC ABC specialist) has been looking for a frame for some time but none came up for sale in the past two years.
You never know you might be lucky otherwise you'll have to find an ABC wreck somewhere with frame, engine and gearbox. Don't worry, there are some for sure. Just takes time to find them.

In regards to the website...yes sorry. Summer was too good this year to sit in front of a PC. There will be more added, including the history page which is 90% ready.
I'll certainly keep on posting info about any ABC part I see on the internet

The frame on that auction bike appeared to be an autocycle one, certainly strange if it has a V5c.

Hi, err, yes it was the ebay one...as mentioned, he gave me a good deal.

The parts arrived this morning, and this is going to be a long re-build. I think i have the main parts of the front forks and suspension, the rear suspension and swing arm, and the fuel tank, the rear wheel and drive cog. (there are numerous flat plates that look like part of another leaf-spring unit, the carb manifold, and an exhaust(?) manifold, and various other brackets. They all look in good order

I had previously queried about the frame, and he was strangely quite. It seems he said he had to include the frame to list the parts on ebay...not sure why.

The paperwork is slightly weird. The original registration details show that it was built in 1921, and last taxed in 1937. The person i bought it off, has had it re-registered with a V5C, as he had the original paperwork...BUT, no frame, and no engine, so how to tie the two together I don't know. But it does mean it already has a correct vintage number plate.

It also has it as a 300cc, I thought they were 398cc?

Do i have certain regrets about this purchase? Yes. So, I shall be using this board a lot for advice. The info i got last week will all be followed up, now i know what I have.

So thank-you very much for all the info so far.

The engine of the Skoota is now back together.
Ian really went a long way dedicating the day to my project and his knowledge made all the difference.
For me it was a great learning experience and lots of fun getting my hands dirty.
It was just a shame we could not start the engine as we run out of time and there is a need for a new conical spring for the inlet valve.
Does anybody know where I could find one?
